Valuation Tracker By Industry Sector

Valuation Tracker By Sector

The Viridian Value Tracker is the most comprehensive valuation product in the industry.

    • A broad set of 12 valuation measures assures applicability, regardless of whether the company has analyst coverage or revenues.  The typically presented EV/ Projected Revenues and EV/ Projected EBITDA are available for less than 1/3 of the cannabis companies we track.
    • Most valuation studies present only the average valuation measures, while the Tracker goes one step further and shows the distribution of values (the quartiles, median, and dispersion) for each measure. This gives users a more complete view of how companies in the cohort group are valued.

Weekly Sector Valuation Report Sector Valuation for U.S. Companies only

  • One of the issues of overall valuation by sectors is that it mixes all geographical locations, which can be important determinants of how companies are valued.
  • The U.S. Cultivation and Retail Sector includes 42 companies, but only 19 of them have sell-side analyst coverage. Accordingly, we also present valuation metrics that do not rely on consensus estimates, including market-to-book, EV/ LTM Revenue, and EV/Annualized revenue. The median EV/ Annualized Revenues, EV/ LTM Revenues, and EV/ Projected 2024 revenues (for the 19 analyst-covered companies) are all approximately 1.4x.
  • Interestingly, the tightest grouping of valuation metrics is on our newest valuation ratio, Adjusted EV/ 2025 EBITDAR. The median for this measure is 6.44x.
