  • The Largest Closed M&A Deal of the Week:
  • On May 30, 2024, Village Farms Intl. (VFF: Nasdaq)(VFF: CSE) announced the increase of its ownership of Quebec-based Rose Life by 10% to 80%.
  • The transaction amount was $2.99 million for 10% of the company, implying a total valuation of $29.99M. VFF bought 70% of Rose Life for $37.1M in November 2021, indicating a total value of $53M. If we ascribe a 20% control premium to the earlier purchase, we get a total pre-premium value of $44M.
  • Although this implies a 17% decline in value, it’s actually quite bullish. Which other cannabis companies’ value is down less than 17% since November 2021?
