Valuation Tracker By Industry Sector

Valuation Tracker By Sector

The Viridian Value Tracker is the most comprehensive valuation product in the industry.

    • A broad set of 12 valuation measures assures applicability, regardless of whether the company has analyst coverage or revenues.  The typically presented EV/ Projected Revenues and EV/ Projected EBITDA are available for less than 1/3 of the cannabis companies we track.
    • Most valuation studies present only the average valuation measures, while the Tracker goes one step further and shows the distribution of values (the quartiles, median, and dispersion) for each measure. This gives users a more complete view of how companies in the cohort group are valued.

Sector Valuation Cultivation and Retailing and the importance of picking the right metrics.

    • The Weekly Sector Valuation report shows an apparent contradiction between this week and last week with regard to the Cultivation and Retail sector. On the one hand, median EV/2025 EBITDA went up this week to 4.90x compared to 4.64x last week. Strange, but it sure didn’t feel like an up week to us. News of the new interim DEA head put consistent pressure on the market. The correct read was based on our more advanced ratio, Adjusted EV/ 2025 EBITDAR, the median of which declined to 5.7x this week from 6.17x last week. Pretty sure that’s at least the right direction!
