Weekly Sector Credit – Median Liquidity and Leverage Ratios by Sector

- We have previously noted that we find it interesting that sectors with the best liquidity ratios tend to have the highest leverage. Maybe it’s a kind of cosmic equalizer, like the ugly guy with the great personality? Or is it the chicken-and-egg question, i.e., did they get good liquidity by taking on lots of debt, or conversely, do they have to carry a lot of excess liquidity because they are not attractive to debt providers? Regardless of the case, the correlation is clear from the graph. What’s your theory?
